Well, judging from some conversations I've had recently the answer is: yes, you do - some of you, at least.  A number of people have come up to me expressing their concern, even dismay, at what they see as the increased use of incense in our worship in St John's.  For some, this may be because they find it physically irritating; for others, it is more a question of taste - they find it too ‘High Church' perhaps.  In short, they are incensed by the incense.

By now, many of you will have heard the news that the Reverend Dean Henley is to leave us in the autumn to take up a new position in the Diocese of St Albans. There will be plenty of opportunity to say our farewells and record our gratitude to Dean nearer the time; for now, this is to let you know that Dean’s final Sunday with us will be Sunday, 1st October, which we shall mark by a joint parish Eucharist at St George’s at 10 a.m. I hope that as many of you as possible will be able to be there. Please note that there will be no main service at St John’s that day. Please keep Dean in your prayers in the coming months as he prepares to meet the challenge of his new position.
